Hyosung Halo or Hyosung 2700…..decisions, decisions……Thinking about buying a Hyosung Halo ATM or Hyosung 2700 ATM for your business? In this post we take a look at the similarities, differences and our opinion of both machines.
Hyosung Halo
The Hyosung Halo ATM is the successor to the Hyosung 1800 series. The Hyosung 1800 series had a very successful run. The Hyosung 1800 series revolutionized the way we think of ATMs. The most notable features being the large color LCD display and built in TCP/ IP and dial up connectivity options- all built on a Windows CE platform. What does this mean to you? Lower running costs, and customized display options. This set the stage for a customer focused ATM- the Hyosung Halo ATM series. The Hyosung Halo is built on the same proven platform as the Hyosung 1800SE. Most of the parts feature “backwards” compatibility. Which means that they will work in both the 1800SE and Halo units. The biggest change on the halo is its look, and its color changing keyboard housing. Hyosung states that their design was inspired by Apple. The Hyosung Halo has a sleek modern look, and is available in two colors- the standard matte silver finish and the hi-gloss white known as the Hyosung Halo S.

The Hyosung Halo Series ATM is a great look for retail business
Hyosung Halo ATM Pros and Cons
Pros-small footprint, low cost, high visibility, attractive design.
Cons– manufacturing cost reductions now feature more plastic parts which have yet to withstand the test of use and abuse ATMs constantly get.
Our Opinion – The Halo is our #1 choice for the retail space due to low cost. We would like to see the 2700 function keys integrated into the unit- This would be more reliable than the traditional rubber function keys. We probably sell 10 to 1 more Halo’s than 2700’s but that is price driven.
Hyosung 2700
The Hyosung 2700 Series was introduced several years before the Halo. The Hyosung 2700 series features much of the same parts as the Halo and 1800SE, which are proven in their design and functionality. The most notable feature on the Hyosung 2700 series is its infrared touch function keys and large LED display. The display is the same screen resolution as the Halo, but looks larger in person due to their sleek function keys. The Hyosung 2700 features most of the same parts and dispenser configurations as the Hyosung Halo ATM, it is however slightly more expensive. The function keys seem to be more reliable than the rubber push button ones, because they do not wear out over time. They are however more expensive to replace shall they fail.

The Hyosung 2700 Series ATM is sleek look for a financial institution
Hyosung 2700 ATM Pros and Cons
Pros– small footprint, highly attractive design, more of a higher end financial institution look
Cons– slightly higher price point
Our Opinion – The Hyosung 2700 is our go to machine for financial institutions like banks, check cashiers and credit unions that need a low end machine with processing solutions from Best Products or branding applications.
