The Hyosung 4000w glimmers, mounted to a granite pillar on Broadway awaiting the nighttime scramble for cash….
The most common question we get is- how secure is it?
Well for starters, it is made out of the same thickness steel, and features a similar locking mechanism as any business hours ATM. So from a UL rating standpoint- its basically the same thing as a retail ATM. A good mounting surface is key. The 4000w gets bolted to the wall- the same way a retail ATM gets bolted to the floor. Its up to the installer to decide how many anchor bolts to put in, but we normally install it using 8-10 concrete anchors, or lag bolts. So as long as you have a good mounting surface- the machine should be secure.
How does the 4000w get mounted to the wall?
If you have ever hung a flat screen television, the 4000w mounts very similar. The ATM comes with a thick steel mounting plate the same dimensions as the ATM. The installer secures this mounting plate to the wall, and then the machine gets hung off the plate. The ATM then gets bolted to the plate, with the provided hardened steel bolts. For additional insurance, we also use several self tapping screws in the center section.
How reliable is it?
The 4000w features most of the same parts as the Hyosung retail models- the 1800, Halo and 2700. The only difference is the cash dispenser and printer of the 4000w. They are much more compact. The receipt printer holds a small roll of paper, both in length of roll and diameter. The cash dispenser also is much more compact and holds 500 notes. Which is about half the capacity of a free standing ATM. As far as reliability- Best Products has several dozen 4000w installed in the field outside, and we have yet to replace a single cash dispenser. Which to us, for an out door machine- a great accomplishment to the Hyosung engineers. The only draw back to the unit is it will require slightly more site visits. Both from a cash capacity standpoint, and a receipt paper standpoint. Again- not the end of the world. If the ATM is dispensing a lot of cash… its doing lots of transactions. Never a bad thing.
