New for 2015, the Hyosung 2700 Shell ATM! The Hyosung 2700 Shell ATM does not have a cash dispenser. The “Shell” model is designed for customers who have older Hyosung units who need to replace or upgrade for EMV. The thinking is that instead of upgrading older models to EMV, you can take your old cash dispenser out and put it in a new “shell” ATM. This will save you a few hundred dollars versus buying a completely new machine, and will be middle of the road from upgrading to buying new. The Hyosung 2700 Shell ATM is expected to be available Q2 2015 and priced in the $1700 range.
Our Opinion of Hyosung 2700 Shell ATM:
We think the Hyosung 2700 Shell ATM will be successful among IAD with older MB1000, and MB2100 and possibly even extend to the MB1500 for higher volume locations. It also will be successful for customers IAD’s with extra cash dispensers. We plan to upgrade several of our own ATMs with this replacement alternative because we have literally hundreds of extra cash dispensers on hand, and now we can put them to good use. Expect to see more 2700’s replacing older equipment in the next year.
